Indiscernible to humans, polarised light is widely used by octopuses and other marine creatures to navigate and to communicate with each other. Light Catcher is a poetic optical device that invites you to explore this visual realm and rediscover your natural environment through sensory information otherwise imperceptible to the naked human eye.

Scout the horizon until you uncover a spot where light is naturally polarised. Caught by the instrument, the reflected light is deciphered into a colourful kaleidoscopic pattern and reveals its hidden dimensions. A solar cell powers a system of rotating lenses to modulate the patterns over time, sparking new narratives.
